I don’t eat liver and onions. I prefer not to ever eat onions so the threat of onions not being harvested may not affect me as much as others. I don’t want to see anyone not do well and even though onions are not my favorite food item, farmers should not have to suffer in a boycott.
Over in the Atlanta Business Chronicle there’s an article about a Vidalia Onion Boycott if the Governor signs the new immigration law which past this last session.
In today’s technological age there certainly has to be a way to harvest more with fewer people involved. If not then some farmer who went to GA Southern most likely could design a way to pluck these from the fields.
If the boycott is to not purchase the onion itself maybe I’ll start buying a few and giving them away. We could do like Mayor Reed’s Hire One initiative. If you’re not an illegal alien in Georgia buy a Vidalia Onion campaign.
